The biggest clothes market of Bangladesh is Islampur Clothes Market. This market started from British period with few shops. In Pakistan period this market expanded step by step. After independence of Bangladesh this cloth market was fully established as the biggest cloth market of the country. Islampur bazaar stands on the bank of Buriganga River in old Dhaka near Sadarghat.
It is famous for wholesale clothes market. Jamdani, katan, Rajshahi silk, batik, hand paints sharee are available here. Woman dress three pieces, shirt cloth, pant cloth, bed sheet, cover sheet, lungi and every type of clothses are also available here.
